Susanne Wille

Career to date

Susanne Wille has been Director General of SRG SSR since November 2024. In this role, she leads the strategic and organisational transformation of Switzerland’s national public service media organisation at a time of profound change in media consumption and technology. Through the company-wide transformation programme Enavant, she is shaping SRG SSR’s evolution into a more digital, agile and integrated public service media organisation, ensuring its long-term relevance and sustainability. 

Prior to this, Susanne Wille took on leadership responsibility for the digital transformation of the newsroom at SRF from 2016 onwards. She chaired the Newsroom Quality and Steering Board and, as a member of the core team, contributed to shaping  the SRF 2024 strategy and organisational development programme. In  2020, she joined the Executive Board of SRF and became Head of the Culture Departement at SRF. In the same year, she was appointed Deputy Director of SRF and member of the Executive Board of 3sat, the joint television network of SRG SSR, ARD, ZDF and ORF. Before assuming executive responsibilities, Susanne Wille held various journalistic and editorial positions. As a journalist, political correspondent and news anchor, she covered national and international political developments and became a recognised and awarded political news anchor in Swiss public service broadcasting. 

Susanne Wille has completed advanced training in digital strategy and change management at Harvard Business School and MIT Sloan and holds an Executive MBA from IMD in Lausanne. She combines strategic and digital leadership in a complex political, societal and economic environment with extensive editorial experience.

In October 2026, she will join the Executive Board of the European Broadcasting Union (EBU).
