Using artificial intelligence
AI is a technology that is developing rapidly and is already shaking up our day-to-day work. For SRG, it is essential to keep pace with technological developments and to adopt a clear and responsible approach to its use. The use of AI is regulated uniformly and bindingly for all employees.
To ensure that artificial intelligence is used responsibly and in a forward-looking way, SRG has developed national AI regulations that have been in force since 1 June 2026. They are reviewed regularly and updated as needed. The regulations define binding standards for all areas of the company and ensure consistency and transparency in the use of AI.
The key principle is the following: AI is never used at SRG for its own sake, but only where it supports our public service mandate – whether in terms of journalistic quality, accessibility, relevance for the audience, or improved efficiency.
When using AI, responsibility always lies with humans. Our editorial guidelines and journalistic control mechanisms remain fully in place. There are precise rules for labelling content that has been created partly or entirely with AI. The protection of sensitive data is ensured at all times.
