Carreer
Marc Furrer is a legal advocate and a notary public. He has been a partner at Burkhalter Rechtsanwälte in Bern and Zurich since January 2020 and chairman of the Board of Directors of Salt since May 2021. Marc was Chair of the Federal Communications Commission (Comcom) from 2005 to 2016, and the first Director of the new Federal Office of Communications (Bakom) from 1992 to 2005. He began his career at SRG in 1978, where he was domestic affairs editor for Radio DRS before spending five years as parliamentary correspondent. Between 1988 and 1992 he served as personal advisor to Adolf Ogi, a member of the Swiss national parliament. Marc has performed various roles and duties within Swiss sport. He was President of the Swiss Rowing Association from 1998 to 2005, President of the National Ice Hockey League from 2007 to 2017, and has been President of the Swiss Ice Hockey Federation from 2012 to 2017.
