Marc Furrer has been a partner at Burkhalter Rechtsanwälte in Bern and Zurich since 1 January 2020. From 2016 to 2019 he was also the co-owner and senior partner of Monti Stampa Furrer & Partners AG, a technology consulting company (specialising in cybersecurity). He was President of the Federal Communications Commission (Comcom) from 2005 to 2016, and was the first Director of the new Federal Office of Communications (Bakom) from 1992 to 2005. His career began at SRG in 1978 as domestic affairs editor for Radio DRS, followed by five years as parliamentary correspondent. He was personal advisor to Adolf Ogi, a member of the Swiss parliament, between 1988 and 1992. Marc Furrer has performed various roles and duties within Swiss sport. For instance, he was President of the Swiss Rowing Association from 1998 to 2005, President of the Ice Hockey National League Association and then of the Ice Hockey Association from 2007 to 2017.
