SRG portrays the reality of everyday life for all people and social groups in Switzerland. We therefore create a face for multicultural Switzerland.

SRG's integration mandate is more relevant than ever – a quarter of the Swiss population do not possess Swiss passports. In light of both the political situation abroad and the digital revolution, Swiss society is undergoing a transformation, which is why we do not limit our portrayal of real life to the cultures of our country alone.

Our programmes are intended to encourage people to get to know each other and thus improve their mutual understanding. Foreigners therefore have a fixed place in our programme schedules. SRF’s new comedy format «Müslüm Television» shows that integration can be really rather colourful and amusing. Müslüm, a Bern-based comedian with Turkish roots, takes his audience on an action-packed tour of migrant life and, in so doing, delves deep into Swiss traditions.

SRG is a partner of the CIVIS Media Foundation

The CIVIS Media Foundation raises awareness amongst journalists in Europe of the issues of integration and cultural diversity. It recognises programmes that tackle these topics in an outstanding way.

A concise guide to Switzerland

We also do our bit to promote integration online. Our «together» app tackles questions from day-to-day life, provides answers and reveals other useful information in seven (!!!) languages. The app currently comprises ten topics with around 300 questions. «together» pools together useful resources and information in one place.

The basic concept behind this app is a rather tricky quiz that is not ostensibly competitive in nature. The app provides information about Switzerland and practical help for newcomers in a fun way. Users can engage in further discussions in a Facebook community.

With the online offer from SWI available in ten languages, we serve both foreigners in Switzerland and Swiss people or those interested in Switzerland abroad.
