US distributor secures international rights to «Amur senza fin»

Media release 31.08.2018

Los Angeles-based worldwide distributor Cinema Management Group (CMG) has secured the international distribution rights to SRG co-production «Amur senza fin».

«Amur senza fin», a Romansh language feature film directed by Christoph Schaub («Julia’s Disappearance») premiered at this year’s Locarno Festival. The film has attracted international attention, with Los Angeles-based worldwide distributor Cinema Management Group (CMG) securing the international distribution rights to the SRG co-production.

Under the international title «Hide and Seek», the film will be presented at the Toronto International Film Festival, North America’s largest film market, in early September. Lukas Hobi and Reto Schaerli from production company Zodiac Pictures («The Divine Order», «Heidi», «Gotthard») see this as a huge success: «Romansh goes Hollywood – we’re thrilled that CMG is bringing ‘Amur senza fin’ and therefore the Romansh language to the world.»

Edward Noeltner, CEO of CMG, sees great international potential in «Amur senza fin»: «Rheto-Romansh may be the least widely spoken of Switzerland’s four national languages, but ‘Amur senza fin’ tells a story about love and fidelity in a universal language with great humour. It’s the type of film loved by audiences the world over.»

Special screenings of the comedy, written by Sabine Pochhammer («Late Bloomers»), will be shown at over 20 cinemas throughout Switzerland for Cinema Day on 2 September. The television premiere of «Amur senza fin» will be at 8.05 p.m. on 23 September on SRF 1. Additional broadcasts on RTS and RSI are coming soon.
