After jobs at theatres in Hof (Bavaria) and Chur and an internship with "Bündner Zeitung", Mariano Tschuor joined Radio Rumantsch in 1982 as an editor. He was appointed Home Affairs Correspondent at Schweizer Fernsehen DRS in Chur in 1990 and started presenting on Televisiun Rumantscha in the same year. In 1993, he moved to Zurich as SF’s Editor-in-Chief for Folk Culture. He became Head of Programming at Televisiun Rumantscha in 2003 and Editor-in-Chief at RTR in 2006, in which function he initiated the RTR convergence process in that same year.
