General Secretary since 2004

Willi Burkhalter is a lawyer who qualified in Zurich in 1972. After working briefly for the Canton of Lucerne Justice Department, he became a researcher and Section Head at the Federal Finance Administration. He joined SRG SSR in 1990, initially taking charge of finance and general administration. In 1997, he took over responsibility for the companies in which SRG SSR holds shares, and the Board of Directors elected him General Secretary in 2004.
